Workshop & Festival
September 11-19, 2021
The Workshop & Festival has been postponed until September 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic
The 2019 Workshop & Festival featured The Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell complete with costumes, parts of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (the background for Purcell's music), dancing and many fairies. We had a large orchestra playing in period style and magnificently directed by Marco Vitale assisted by Enrique Gomez-Cabrero Fernandez (strings tutor) and Romeo Ciuffa (winds tutor). We would like to thank all participants, the audiences, the financial donors, and the many volunteers who made this such a memorable event.
It is planned that the rescheduled Workshop will focus on Pastorale sur la Naissance de N.S.J.C. by Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1643-1704) for a final performance on September 18 in the Denman Community Hall. There will also be concerts and lectures by our Workshop instructors. We welcome Conor Jacobson (strings) and Massimo Altieri (voices) as new tutors this year.
